Mr. Patschke has 32+ years of experience in maintenance, mechanical integrity, and process safety management. He has held the positions of plant engineer, materials engineer, project manager, engineering manager, operations manager, plant manager, and North America PSM Manager.

He has both domestic and international experience in a variety of industries with processes involving highly hazardous chemicals, including refining, oil and gas production (both onshore and offshore), petrochemical, LNG, and specialty chemicals.

Mr. Patschke is an active member of the API Subcommittee on Inspection and Mechanical Integrity. He previously held inspector certifications for API 510 Pressure Vessels, API 653 Atmospheric Storage Tanks, and API 570 Process Piping, and has developed and managed MI programs for a variety of companies.

He currently assists clients in implementing and assessing mechanical integrity, as well as other process safety programs. He has participated in over 75 process safety site assessments and API 751 audits through the PSSAP, including the very first assessment in 2012.

Mr. Abrahamson has over 45 years of experience in the chemical industry including engineering, operations, and process safety management roles. He was Celanese’s Global Process Safety Manager for five years before starting his process safety consulting career. Prior to Celanese, Mr. Abrahamson was the Director of Process Safety and Risk Engineering for Occidental Chemical Corporation. During his career, he has had the opportunity to work in a variety of areas including process safety management, operations management, process safety engineering, technical management, quality assurance management, process development, and research. His process safety experience includes building and implementing a comprehensive regional process safety management system for Occidental based on the OSHA PSM regulation and the EPA RMP rule. At Celanese, he standardized, documented, and globalized 21 industry-wide process safety best practices.

Mr. Aldrich has 40+ years of experience in the areas of chemical/refinery operations and process safety. After completing 5 years on active duty as an Army officer, he had a 22 year career with DuPont where he held various leadership positions in operations, engineering and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). He then worked for British Petroleum (BP) for 15 years in site HSE leadership roles at two refineries and on corporate staff, overseeing contractor safety assurance for both the upstream and downstream businesses. Since retirement in 2020, he has been an assessor for API’s Process Safety Site Assessment Program (PSSAP) and a compliance auditor of PSM and SEMS (for offshore platforms) programs.

Mr. Bell has over 40 years of experience in the refining industry, specifically in the mechanical integrity field. He served as the Principal Asset Integrity Engineer for Shell Oil company for 15 years, performing over 50 asset integrity reviews at various refining and chemical manufacturing facilities within the Shell organization. Mr. Bell served as the technical group leader for the development Shell Global Solutions’ inspection data management system. He was also the North American representative for the pressure equipment integrity management system globalization effort.

Mr. Bell has led and served on various global reliability teams including steam and catalyst crackers. He coordinated the Nondestructive Evaluation Technical Network for Shell Oil Products, Shell Chemicals, and Shell Canada and helped develop the current model for corrosion reviews within Shell Oil. Mr. Bell has conducted corrosion reviews of several refining units including crude distillation, delayed cokers, fluid catalytic cracking, hydrotreating, reforming, hydrogen generation, sulfur recovery, alkylation, hydrocrackers, vacuum flashers, and amine regeneration units. He has performed over 60 mechanical integrity assessments and audits at various refining, chemical, and LNG facilities. Mr. Bell has a BS in engineering from the University of Houston.

Mr. Browning has over 35 years of experience in refinery process operations holding positions as a unit operator, shift supervisor, area foreman, and area process specialist. His responsibilities included day-to-day refinery operation, project planning and execution, training program development and implementation, turnaround planning, OSHA PSM compliance, and personnel management. Mr. Browning also has 15+ years of experience in PSM compliance program development and auditing.

Mr. Fisher has over 44 years of experience in refining and pipeline operations with Mobil Oil, ExxonMobil, Hovensa, LLC, and BP Pipeline. He held various supervisory positions in three refineries including operations, reliability and process safety management. Mr. Fisher has participated in over 60 process safety site assessments and API 751, Safe Operations of HF Alkylation Unit audits for the API.

Mr. Fisher has extensive experience in developing operating practices and procedures, and operator reliability of HF Alkylation safe work practices. He has developed operator round programs using electronic handheld devices and operating practices to meet industry standards for API site assessments.

Mr. Slotnick has over 50 years of process, environmental, and safety experience in the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, and pharmaceutical industry. Prior to retirement from ExxonMobil in 2011, he was managing their Downstream and Chemical, Safety, Health, and Environmental audit program. Jack is a Certified Environmental and Safety Auditor (CPEA) for regulatory compliance, ISO 14001, Management Systems, and American Chemical Councils Responsible Care Program. In January of 2012 Jack was awarded the first BEAC auditor certification (CPSA) as a process safety auditor. He is a former Board member for both the Board of Directors for the Board of Environmental Auditor Certification (BEAC) and the Auditing Roundtable. He is currently a member of the Institute for Internal Auditors (IIA).

Jack has conducted over 300 audits, developed EHS management systems and taught numerous auditing, safety/environmental, and sustainability courses around the world. In 2016, he was awarded the American Petroleum Institute’s Pioneer in Process Safety Award.

Since retirement Jack has conducted numerous process safety, EHS compliance, and responsible care audits. Further, he has developed and taught a series of classes on safety and social responsibility to international oil company executives.

Jack holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from Drexel University. Further, he attended a special business economics program at New York University.

Mr. Blundell has over 40+ years of experience in the areas of refinery operations and process safety. He had a 38-year career with ExxonMobil where he was a mid-level manager holding various leadership positions primarily in refinery operations. During his career with ExxonMobil, and since he began consulting in 2013, he has conducted dozens of process safety and HSE assessments globally. He has provided advisory support to numerous companies, including TransCanada Pipeline, CH2M Hill, GL Noble, ExxonMobil, and the API. He is a certified assessor in API’s Process Safety Site Assessment Program (PSSAP) and is a member of the API PSSAP subcommittee for identifying improvements in the Operating Practices segment of that protocol.

His areas of expertise include conducting process safety assessments and audits, development of management systems for PSM elements such safe work permitting and alarm management, as well as providing other consulting support in the industry such as “offsites” safety assessments and maintenance effectiveness audits.

Mr. Nelson has over 40+ years of experience in the downstream industry. He spent his career with Conoco, which later became ConocoPhillips. Most of his experience was in plant locations, with roles equally divided into engineering, operations, and maintenance/reliability. At the end of his career with ConocoPhillips, he served as a technical consultant for downstream HSE in process safety. Since retirement, he has been a writer for several Advancing Process Safety initiatives as well as an auditor and assessor for the API and various companies.
